Job Description
The Senior LNG Marketing Manager is in charge of:
- Scouting LNG market and customers to identify all sale and purchase opportunities. She/he is in close contact with the Group’s representatives in the main LNG importing countries (Japan, China, Korea, India, Middle East), with the Business Development teams of the gas division and with the LNG trading team
- Making initial proposal to potential buyers or sellers after obtaining the necessary mandates from the relevant Group’s committees, CDGAS, CDGRP or COMEX. Any deal has to be approved by the COMEX before execution. She/he is first in close contact with the economists for the valuation of the deals and then with all the relevant entities (HSE, strategy, finance/credit, compliance, etc) to prepare the files for the various committees
- Negotiating contracts with counterparts with the help of internal lawyers. The negotiation of a full LNG SPA requires usually between 6 and 12 months. On average and every year, the team study about 150 prospects and present 90 files to Steerco and CDGAS. Few of them are going to the COMEX level as only a few of the numerous opportunities actually materialize
- Preparing various analysis and studies to help assessing the LNG market trends and the situation of specific geographical market areas, customers or other players, and help building the marketing strategy of the entity.
When required and in particular for detailed LNG SPA negotiation, the Senior LNG Marketing Manager will team up with a more junior member of the team to carry out the negotiation or the study.
Requirements
- Significant experience in the LNG sector and in the negotiation of long term contracts (~ 10 years’ experience in gas or similar environment)
- Strong knowledge of global energy markets and of technical, economical, financial and legal domains for LNG
- Ability to represent the Group at a senior level
- Adaptability to any situation and capacity to develop trustful relationship with third party
- Leadership skills (project team management, proactive, independent...)
- Proficient in English and another language (reading, writing and speaking)
