About the role: Reporting to the Global Engineering Manager.
- Developing the plan, path forward, and lifecycle of new hardware platforms. Includes direct interaction with Software Architects, Mechanical Engineers, and Product Management to create a cohesive path forward.
- Create cutting-edge designs based on market, customer, and company needs
- Create extensive detailed test plans to ensure product compliance with requirements
- Assist product management in creating NPD and PLM requests
- Provide technical input on potential product requests to direct product management in creating NPD and PLM requests on technical feasibility.
- Review ECRs to ensure compliance with requirements
- Mentor and train less senior engineers on products, design, and development
- Create design development documentation to standardize the process
- As needed assist in the lifecycle of existing products for enhancement, obsolescence, and on-time delivery needs
- Assure design compliance with W&M & Electrical Safety regulations by working directly with Complianceengineering
- Attend, as required, agency testing and/or product certification activities.
- Evaluation and guidance in human factors engineering of electronic products.
- Evaluate and process engineering change requests relating to hardware changes
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes.
- Propose new features/modifications to existing designs to enhance value.
- Prepare test plans to fully exercise features of the product per the specification. Execute product validation test plans and evaluate results.
- Troubleshoot problems and issues with products.
- Review manuals and product literature as assigned.
- Provide support on technical issues to company service personnel as appropriate.
- Review and improve practices, processes, and documentation.
- Strive to continually learn and improve.
- Follow trends in the use of new materials (SOCs, SOMs, prototyping, design, component capability, IIOT, communication protocols, software coding techniques, etc.).
- Dialog with other company locations regarding similarities/differences in work, products, offerings, etc.
- Assist in improvements of design engineering processes as assigned.
- Approves compliance to standards of software/hardware/mechanical design solutions within projects in accordance with department, project, budget, schedules, and processes:
- Technically correct design requirements analysis

- Provides the highest level of expertise on technical-technological solutions and engineering innovations.
- Identifies and analyses risks associated with engineering tasks.
- Efficiently contributes to the client relations through presentations, meetings, interfaces, etc.
- Supports the knowledge development within the discipline by providing guidance, trainings and mentoring to engineers.
- Ensures the state of the art competencies in the discipline.
- Contributes to the definition of the discipline strategy by communicating to the Group via seminars and working sessions with peers by identifying areas of development and defining targeted skills and knowledge to be developed and/or acquired.
- Coordinates engineering activities on project execution.
- May supervise sub-contractors' work.
- Guarantees the compliance of engineering solutions with NPD/PLM project requirements, industry standards, engineering processes, and best practices for the discipline.
- Provides guidance and training to Engineers.
- Interfaces with other engineering disciplines and engineering team(s).
- Works as a fully contributing member of a project team on complex projects requiring established technology and often leads projects or the solving of problems.
- Responsible for minimizing CNQ (Cost of non-quality)
About you:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience with a minimum of 10-20 years of experience in the field. Advanced degree a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of analog and digital circuit design
- Advanced knowledge of PCB design software tools, Altium PCB Design Software a plus
- Advanced knowledge of testing and design of testing
- Advanced knowledge of design and development of embedded microprocessors/FPGA’s
- Advanced knowledge of DSP selection, use and integration
- Knowledge of IIOT devices
- Knowledge of product certification (weights and measures), product safety (constructional / electrical safety), auditing techniques and practices (for ISO compliance), and MID (Measurement Instrument Directive) Guidelines. Ability to learn and apply all other global approvals relevant to our products.
- Knowledge of TeamCenter, SAP, and MathCad. Knowledge of Matlab, Python, and PLC languages
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 2015 compliance requirements
- Understanding of flow measurement equipment, accessories, and systems.
- Understanding of flow measurement practices in accordance with API, etc.
- Experienced in Word, Excel, analytical and logical reasoning.
