ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY, ASSISTANT MANAGER

We are looking for an EHS Assistant Manager within the gas manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in safety management, a deep understanding of regulatory requirements, and leadership skills to drive a safety-focused culture across the organisation.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards, evaluate risks, and implement appropriate control measures.
  • Assist the Department Head on incident investigation processes to determine root causes, develop corrective actions, and prevent recurrence of accidents, injuries, or near misses.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety considerations into operational processes, facility designs, and equipment modifications.
  • Conduct safety training and educational programs for employees, contractors, and other stakeholders to promote awareness and compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
  • Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance safety performance.
  • Support the Department Head liaising with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and other external stakeholders on safety-related matters.
  • Stay updated on emerging safety trends, technologies, and regulatory changes to ensure the organisation's safety practices remain current and effective.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications are preferred.
  • At least 4-5 years of progressive experience in safety management, preferably in the manufacturing or chemical industry, with a strong focus on process safety.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices applicable to the gas manufacturing industry in Singapore.
  • Experience in safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and implementing safety management systems (e.g., OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001).
  • Ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and safety management software.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of safety management.
