Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Service Department, focusing on business growth and profitability. This includes handling service calls, scheduling resources, maintaining appropriate staffing levels, generating sales revenue, ensuring suitable margins, managing stock and equipment, and coordinating with production staff.
- Manage the staff within the Service Department.
- Develop and manage the service customer base.
- Handle debt collection for service department customers.
- Assist the General Manager in developing the Preventative Maintenance business, a targeted area of business growth.
- Provide informed and accurate technical advice to potential customers regarding the servicing of the company's products.
- Promptly prepare quotations for the supply, repair, or installation of products as requested by potential customers.
- Inform service clients about the schedule of their service request and coordinate with service crews and customers for timely and cost-effective service and product delivery.
- Assist in ensuring occupational health and safety compliance for employees and subcontractors.
- Ensure overall quality standards for service work.
- Collaborate effectively with the Directors, General Manager, and Senior Managers of affiliated companies to achieve common objectives and explore growth opportunities.
- Assist in detailing production paperwork for the correct manufacture of the company's Door products as required.
- Negotiate and resolve disputes with customers, suppliers, and other relevant parties that may arise during business operations.
- Prepare paperwork for invoicing related to serviced products, ensuring processing and mailing by the end of the respective month.
- Inform the Directors of any significant matters or incidents (such as product liability, public liability, workers compensation, motor vehicle accidents, industrial disputes, or legal actions) that may involve the company's liability or be of interest to the Directors.
- Adhere to company policies.
Skills & Experience:
- Excellent knowledge of company products to meet customer requirements.
- Proficiency in using computers, including Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Well-developed organizational skills and ability to manage paperwork and reporting requirements.
- Efficient problem-solving skills and a positive attitude.
