Responsibilities:
- Conduct market analysis, manage forward curve, and track market trends through research, providing periodic reports to corporate management.
- Establish deal structures and objectives for different time frames based on the authority and mandates of corporate management.
- Build and oversee a trading team consisting of traders, analysts, and commercial operators to execute LNG and gas strategies.
- Cover markets starting from Asia Pacific and expand to the west of the Suez Canal as required.
- Provide leadership and oversight in analyzing market trends, technical and sentiment attributes, and develop profitable trading strategies accordingly.
- Originate and recommend short-term/spot LNG commercial transactions for execution.
- Establish and cultivate relationships with third-party customers in the region to identify profitable trading and optimization opportunities for LNG deals.
Requirements:
- Hold a degree in Business Finance, Chemical Engineering, or possess equivalent experience.
- Critical success factor: Experience in building an LNG Trading Desk.
- Possess at least 20 years of experience in management roles within an energy trading firm, with a proven track record in team management and P&L responsibility, including 15 years of relevant experience in LNG trading operations.
- Strong knowledge and network in the energy industry, familiarity with international trading business, and understanding of the global petrochemical industry, including expertise in long-term contract negotiation and operations.
- In-depth experience in paper trade and dealing with futures and OTC instruments for such transactions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong business acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to adapt quickly to market changes.
- Experience working in a multicultural and diverse environment.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- Persistent and skilled negotiator.
