THE ROLE
Responsible for full spectrum of shipping operations
Ensure proper operation of controlled vessels during time charters or spot hires, adhering to global standards and international regulations
Plan voyages to comply with international regulations and charter party requirements
Deploy vessels efficiently, improve operations, and optimize costs
Provide voyage instructions to vessels
Guide chartering and trading desks on tanks cleaning procedure and potential contamination risk
Screen vessels in accordance to Company’s vetting criteria
Communicate with charterers, brokers, agents, and vessels regarding voyage orders and itineraries
Monitor vessel performance during voyages, including speed and fuel consumption
Handle bunker and route optimization
Coordinate engagement of port agents in relation to the DA payment, negotiate DA, agency fee amounts Process payment of DA
Handle letters of indemnity, letters of protest, and other relevant documents
Prepare, maintain and update Shipping system with required information
Assist in resolving ship chartering issues, such as disputes, claims etc.
Provide all necessary information and documents to demurrage department for timely calculation of demurrage
Provide assistance to credit control department to retrieve outstanding amounts from the payers of freight, hire, deviation and other revenues
In case of emergency on the vessel (collision, grounding, fire etc.), provide bridge of communication between the vessel / owners / charterers / agents, etc
Maintain full voyage files for each vessel in the fleet
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime / Nautical Studies
5-8 years of experience in shipping / trading industry and knowledge of the international ship management environment, preferably Aframax, Suesmax and MR tankers
Good knowledge of ship agency business
Bilingual in Chinese (spoken & written) to communicate with Mandarin speaking counterparties
