Primary Objectives of the Position:
- Cultivate a vibrant community of volunteers and micro-jobbers, encouraging active participation among seniors and fostering a supportive atmosphere for community involvement.
- Provide support to seniors through engaging activities and home visits, promoting social interaction and active ageing.
- Facilitate outreach initiatives to invite local seniors to join our Active Ageing Centre, facilitating social engagement and personalised care.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to recruit and coordinate a dedicated team of volunteers and micro-jobbers both from the community and among seniors
- Execute engagement plans in encourage seniors to join our Active Aging Centre and actively participate in our programmes and activities.
- Foster partnerships with external organisations to expand our range of services and activities for seniors.
- Stay informed about current trends and best practices in active ageing, incorporating them into our program development and delivery.
- Provide care referral services to clients as necessary, including responding to emergencies through our Alert Alarm System.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, programme participation, and outcomes.
- Contribute to AWWA's projects and committees aimed at empowering seniors and communities.
Requirements:
- Degree/Diploma in Health Service Management, Social Sciences, or related areas.
- 2 years of work experience, preferably in community or social service settings with seniors.
- Strong operating knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Professional communication with stakeholders and clients.
- Proficiency in English and another Mother Tongue language for communicating with non-English-speaking seniors.
- Willingness to be hands-on and adaptable to changes.
- Cheerful, empathetic, and passionate about going the extra mile to serve seniors.
- Ability to influence and motivate the team to continue the good work.
