What You'll Do
OPERA 5 property management solutions allow hoteliers to orchestrate the many facets of their business—including reservations, loyalty, and sales and catering—to elevate guest service and increase profitability. Designed for flexibility, OPERA 5 is the perfect fit for hotels of all types, from independent properties to international resorts.
As a member of the Sustaining Engineering Engineer team, you will be involved in reviewing and troubleshooting client assist tickets from Global customers on the OPERA product. Also you would be involved in developing new enhancements and providing code fixes on the application.
Responsibilities include:
- Review issues from global customers on issues related to OPERA Application.
- Identify the root cause of the issue.
- Debug code to identify the root cause and the solution.
- Work/Co-ordinate/collaborate with OGTS Support team.
- Develop and unit test fixes and enhancements to the application using Java, Oracle Forms & Reports, Oracle SQL PLSQL.
- Develop DB fix scripts to resolve application issues.
- Participate in software review discussions to improve the software performance, maintainability, serviceability, and reliability.
- Coordinate with other teams within Oracle to understand use cases and be able to solve problems with generic, reusable software.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Required Skills/Experience
What You'll Bring
- 6-10+ years of strong experience in Java software engineering.
- Experience with relational database and SQL.
- Experience in Oracle Forms and Reports is expected.
- Prior experience of OPERA application is expected.
- Ability to multi-task and handle changing priorities.
- Experience with agile development methods is required.
- Knowledge of software development methodology, build tools and product life cycle.
- Excellent team skills, analytical skills, focus on quality and aim to make a difference in a dynamic, fast paced organization.
