Trade Operations Manager
- Industry: Import and Export Trading
- Location: Telok Ayer (2 mins walk from MRT)
- 5 Days Work Week – Monday to Friday
- Work Hours: 9am – 6.30pm
- Remuneration: Up to $8000 (Depending on experience)
Responsibilities:
- Managing all trade documentation and negotiations for both imports and exports.
- Overseeing and ensuring the timely handling of import and export bills, issuance of import letters of credit, verification of incoming export letters of credit, LC confirmations/discount rates, processing LC amendments, standby letters of credit (SBLC), and inward/outward bills for collection.
- Coordinating with cargo surveyors to ensure their timely appointment at ports.
- Arranging for timely nomination of cargo marine/storage insurance.
- Obtaining discharge port results and negotiating second drawing/final payments within specified timelines.
- Maintaining close monitoring of vessel and cargo statuses on a continuous basis.
- Ensuring prompt communication and settlement of laytime, dead freight, etc., with relevant parties.
- Vigilantly monitoring the balances of buyers' and sellers' accounts to ensure timely collection of receivables.
- Handling Know Your Customer (KYC) documentation with banks, buyers, and sellers.
- Proactively identifying and resolving trade-related issues in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Coordinating and communicating with traders, accounts, shipping companies, insurance providers, port agents, surveyors, buyers, sellers, banks, and other relevant agencies.
- Keeping trade Management Information System (MIS) reports updated.
- Sending offers, counter-offers, draft contracts/amendments, LC drafts, negotiation documents, past shipment results, vessel updates, etc., to relevant parties and facilitating back-and-forth negotiations to finalize agreements.
- Undertaking any other miscellaneous duties and assignments as required
Requirements:
- Minimum Diploma in any field with extensive relevant experience in similar role and in-depth knowledge of international dry bulk trade operations
- Strong understanding, knowledge and experience of shipping terms, trade terms, ICC publications UCP600, URC, URR, Incoterms and ISBP is a must
- Conversant with relevant local and international compliance like OFAC, Sanctioned Countries etc.
- Experience of dealing in commodity derivatives and associated risk will be advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365
- To proactively coordinate with customers and suppliers for smooth trade cycle.·
