Working hours : M – T : 8.30am -6pm and F : 8.30am – 5.30pm.
Job scope :
As a Psychologist (Crime Psychology) in the Operations and Forensic Psychology Division (OFPD) in PPSD, you will be in charge of psychological work surrounding investigation- and intelligence-related matters. You will also undertake projects and responsibilities that meets demands of the client. This may include supporting operations, providing behavioural analyses, embarking on applied research using extensive application of both theoretical and psychological knowledge, and providing crisis support to police officers.
JOB EXPECTATIONS
As a Psychologist, your key roles and responsibilities include:
• Drawing on knowledge of psychology and behavioural sciences to support investigation and intelligence work, research, consultations, and trainings
• Overseeing training of police officers in crime and forensic-related matters, including creating, delivering, and reviewing content
• Conducting applied research on investigative and intelligence psychology and other related areas
• Assessing police officers on investigation and intelligence techniques
• Providing consultations for ongoing/live cases
• Conceptualising relevant frameworks and strategies for trauma-informed policing practices
• Any other duties as assigned by the unit
REQUIREMENTS
• Degree in Psychology or other relevant fields. Salary ranges from $3,500 - $4,000 depending on relevant working experience and is negotiable.
• Work experiences in psychology or related behavioural sciences (especially in applied forensic work or related fields) will be advantageous
• Experience in research setting and project management will be advantageous
• Understanding of statistics and proficiency in the use of statistical software
• Proficiency in spoken and written and strong analytical skills
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
