Job Introduction
A high-end Japanese restaurant helmed by a Japanese Master Chef is looking for an apprentice to join his team! This is a great opportunity for a self-motivated individual who is keen to carve out an exciting career in Japanese cuisine to understudy a native Japanese Master Chef.
Roles & Responsibilities
· Assist in preparation of ingredients, including raw foods, fresh fruits and sauces according to required set standards
· Prepare appetizers and soups according to recipes
· Monitor stock levels of foods and ingredients and place orders, where necessary
· Coordinate with Front-of-House team to make sure customers’ requests, such as instructions due to food allergies, are timely fulfilled
· Ensure food preparation and working areas are kept clean and tidy at all times
· In charge for housekeeping and washroom cleanliness
· Any other appropriate duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
· Basic knowledge of Japanese cuisine and culture
· Great and can-do learning attitude
· Excellent team work and works well in under pressure
· Willingness to work 6-day week, on split-shift pattern
· Certification from a culinary school would be an advantage
