API Design and Development: Understand how to design and implement RESTful APIs or GraphQL APIs, and how to manage their versions and documentation.
Frameworks and Libraries: Depending on the language used, be proficient in the relevant backend frameworks, such as Spring Boot for Java, Django or Flask for Python, Express for Node.js, etc.
Servers, Networking, and Hosting Services: Understand basic networking concepts (e.g., HTTP/HTTPS, WebSockets), and how to deploy and maintain applications on various servers and cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Security: Master basic security concepts, such as authentication, authorization, data encryption, and prevention of SQL injection and XSS attacks.
Version Control: Proficient in using version control systems, especially Git, to manage code changes and collaboration.
Containerization and Virtualization Technologies: Understand how to use tools like Docker and Kubernetes to create, deploy, and manage containerized applications.
Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Understand the importance of automated testing, building, and deployment processes, and possibly use tools such as Jenkins, Travis CI, GitHub Actions, etc.
Performance Optimization: Be able to monitor, analyze, and optimize application performance, dealing with issues like caching, database query optimization, and load balancing.
