Summary:
The Project Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the network infrastructure. He/She will assist the Project Manager in planning, implementing, and overseeing the project progress, to ensure the project milestones and client expectations are met in a timely manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain the network infrastructure per project basis
- Ensure client satisfaction and manage escalations, acting as a single point of contact for the client
- Accountable for coordination, status reporting, and ensuring the technical infrastructure and system resources are all delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high-quality standards, and meet project teams’ expectations.
- Coordinate and communicate with vendors in setting the projects’ expectations and prompt assistance towards the vendors when needed.
- Ensure proper documentation and network infrastructure is in order for handover to clients and internal Day-2 Support.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A Higher-Nitec, Diploma or Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related qualification
- At least 1 year of experience in an IT based environment
- Competent and having a sound knowledge (configure and troubleshoot) of various network protocols and topologies, including a broad knowledge of WLAN, switches, routers, servers, and firewalls.
- Good understanding of Layer 2 and/or Layer 3 network protocols
- Prior knowledge of brands such as Ruckus, HPE, Cisco, Fortinet is a plus.
- Proficient in standard PC applications (Google, Microsoft Applications)
- Good communication skills and effective interpersonal skills
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
