Job Description


Conduct Psychological Assessments

· To formulate evidence-based and data-driven hypothesis for challenging/complex behavioural cases.

· Manage challenging and complex behavioural cases.

· Prepare reports for challenging and complex behavioural cases.

· Identify gaps in assessment tools for application in local contexts.

· Provide psychological inputs or deliver case presentation during multi-disciplinary team discussion or case conference.


Deliver interventions/Case Work

· Formulate evidence-based and data driven intervention plans in collaboration with relevant parties for challenging /complex cases.

· Implement intervention plan for complex cases across multi-disciplinary team.

· Monitor, review and adjust intervention according to data collected.

· Adapt existing interventions for local context based on research and trends

· Deliver psychological programmes and services


Build stakeholder relationship

· Provide psychological inputs to other specialised departments and relevant professionals.

· Collaborate with social and other allied health professionals to deliver and improve residents/students/client’s quality of life and care services.

· Conduct trainings for teachers, coaches, care staff, parents and other stakeholders.


Maintain, professional, legal and ethical standards

· Assist in the implementation of professional standards in clinical, legal and ethical practices within departments.

· Monitor staff adherence to policies and procedures for professional practices.

· Provide guidance in development and implementation of centre wide programs (e.g. PBS) and other quality improvement projects to improve residents/students/clients’ services.


Uplift professional practice in Psychology

· Review models of care and service delivery based on evidence-based practice

· Deliver training, lectures, workshops for relevant professional and agencies

· Deliver training programmes as part of continuing professional development

· Review models of care and service delivery based on evidence-based practice

· Conduct research, data collection and analysis independently

· Provide supervision to registered psychologists and associated psychologist.

· Provide leadership to a team of psychologists and facilitate their professional development.


Job Specifications

· Possess at least a Master degree in Psychology, preferably with 8 years of relevant experience

· Registered Psychologist with SPS, (or with a Recognised Psychological Board)

· Pro-active work attitude with good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills

· Able to lead a team of psychologists to ensure the effective functioning of the department by: creating effective targets for the team, develop SOPs/workflows that facilitate effective work processes and collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team

· Competent computer user.

· A team player who is able to work effectively and harmoniously within a multidisciplinary team setting.

· Able to work independently and effectively under pressure

· Having some experience with special needs children/adults would be an added advantage
