About the Role

We are looking for an R&D Manager who can bring their talents to lead DQ Lab’s efforts in the evaluation and accreditation of digital literacy and digital skills programs. This exciting project will involve partnership work with large scale international organisations such as the international telecommunications union (ITU), IEEE, the G20 Civil Society, and others.


As an R&D Manager, you will bring leadership, enthusiasm, energy, and passion to your work on issues at the forefront of education and technology. Our team values problem solving, analytical and statistical skills. Our ideal candidates are smart, creative thinkers with attention to detail.


The R&D Manager will take the lead on a scheme where DQ Lab evaluates and accredits the educational content of partners and clients. You will manage relationships with international partners including governments, NGOs, schools, universities, and private companies. Moreover, you will study their educational materials, evaluate their alignment with DQ Global Standards and produce on-/off-line reports and presentations while working alongside our partner organisations.


You will be part of an international team working closely with colleagues from data science and IT development. In addition, you will work closely with partners and advisors who work at the cutting edge in the fields of psychology, education, media, and human-computer interaction research. You will engage with partners from globally renowned NGOs and social enterprises as well as figures from national and local government.



Responsibilities

· Collaborate with the overall research and development teams to develop and execute research/development projects.

· Use critical thinking techniques to move thoughts and discussions from broad to specific.

· Help define specific product features by integrating inputs from a wide range of sources including qualitative and quantitative research.

· Support development of curriculums, frameworks, assessments, and educational content.

· Support alignment and mapping process of external education content according to the DQ Framework.

· Support development and writing of research papers, articles, and blogs.

· Lead researchers and interns to complete research tasks.

· Develop and manage a DQ Research Committee and be point of contact for communications between external researchers.

· Work with business, creative, tech/data teams to deliver products/services.

· Manage project/product development across departments to ensure projects are delivered professionally and on time.

· Communicate with clients on development progress and updates.



Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills

· Excellent presentation skills and the ability to present ideas both verbally and in writing.

· Exceptional theoretical and practical knowledge in designing studies and questionnaires.

· Show meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Statistical ability and experience in quantitative research to communicate with data scientists.

· Adapt well in a dynamically changing environment and maintain a sense of calm and patience in the face of adversity.

· Strong interpersonal skills: ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.

· Proven project management skills; ability to perform well on multiple concurrent projects and meet timelines.
