Job Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Lounge/Restaurant.
- Collaborate closely with the culinary team to develop wine pairing suggestion for the Bar/Restaurant’s menus.
- Responsible for ordering, receiving and inventory of Wine/Sake/Whisky.
- Implement inventory control measures to minimise waste
- Regular maintenance and updating of alcohols list to reflect current products and vintages.
- Provide expert guidance to guests during dinner service with wine/sake/whisky recommendations and selection for perfect pairing with their dinner.
- Conduct training to all the team members to enhance their knowledge of wine/sake/whisky service.
- Responsible for the correct use and maintenance of glassware and other related equipment.
- Responsible for maintaining and executing all the special beverage promotions designed to increase beverage sales in the outlet.
- Refresh the Bar/Restaurant wine programme on a regular basis to ensure that the wine programme remains relevant & exciting.
- Responsible for Budget, cost control, analysing profit and loss statement and make decisions that contribute to the financial success of the Lounge/Restaurant
- Ensure compliance with food & beverage hygiene policies & procedures
- Any other duties that might be assigned from time to time
Requirements
▪ Experience as a Sommelier, wine steward/stewardess with extensive knowledge of different
wines/Sake/Whisky
▪ Certification as a Sommelier, WSET or equivalent
▪ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
▪ Customer oriented with a positive attitude
▪ Proficient in MS Office and Micros
▪ Able to work on weekends and holidays
