Job Description
Providing timely legal advice on all relevant aspects of the business comprising trading and investment activities in Singapore and other Asia Pacific countries.
Liaising and coordinating with external legal counsel and consultants on relevant matters including litigation
Providing regulatory advice, updates and training to staff.
- Support employees on all aspects of investment projects in AP region, including the preparation of term sheets, selection and instructing external counsel in connection with negotiations.
- Prepare transaction documents such as sales and purchase contracts as well as provide assistance and support to the business teams in respect to the internal approval process.
- Support all legal matters and related activities of the company and its group companies throughout the AP region concerning the daily management of company’s operations including permits compliance, trading and other businesses.
- Conduct legal research and provide updates to the legal team as well as business divisions across AP region.
- Assist corporate secretarial works (board / shareholder resolutions, minutes of meetings etc).
- Conduct legal and compliance seminar to employees in Singapore as well as other offices in AP region.
- Provide legal advice and support to other corporate departments as well as to the CLO in respect of compliance matters including employment and HR matters.
- Liaise and maintaining good relationship and networks external counsels across the AP region.
- Provide legal advice and support to various business divisions across the AP region in relation to their day to day trading contracts and businesses with third parties.
Job Requirement
- Singapore law-qualified or other similar commonwealth jurisdiction (such as UK, Australia etc)
- At least 4 years legal practice in an established law firm and/or inhouse position experienced in corporate legal matters including M&A, Joint ventures, Shareholder agreements and legal due diligence
- Effective communicator who is a Team player and can work independently
- Commercially-minded with focus on finding effective solutions
- In-house legal experience with an MNC or established corporate
- Not necessary but has working experience in Japanese corporation or strong interest in Japanese culture will be a plus point.
