Overview
Reporting to our Senior Manager World Class Manufacturing, the Smart Lean Manager will take the lead
in our APAC implementation for WS Audiology World Class Manufacturing (WCM) model, conducting endto-
end value chain loss analysis across our regional operations network.
Utilizing the Toyota WCM approach as well as disciplined use of various problem-solving tools and
statistical process control, you will be responsible for consistent implementation of our manufacturing
excellence in APAC. This executive is expected to identify value drivers for SKU rationalization, challenge
non-value-added cost drives across the value chain, identifies key cost reduction projects and develop
our roadmap to optimize value chain globally.
More specifically:
▪ Lead the implementation of a Lean program in APAC, especially in Singapore and China. Facilitate
the development of the Singapore Smart Lean Program roadmap and governance.
▪ Lead end-to-end value chain loss analyses and train/mentor regions end-to-end resources to
support region initiatives to improve margin, cash flow, and growth improvement plus identify
opportunities for growth. Continuously improve the loss analysis approach and tools.
▪ Drive the cultural change for 100% employee engagement and a mind-set of zero safety incidents,
zero defects, and zero losses.
▪ Build a WCM pillars network with expert resources. Implement processes and systems to facilitate
benchmarking and replication of best practices. Build capability through training, coaching,
performance evaluations, and talent acquisition.
▪ Champion the standardization of WCM KPI's, definitions and the cascading from SVP Operations to
blue collars.
▪ Identify, initiate, support and follow up on regional & local improvement projects which include
leading regional kaizen activities
▪ Business travelling will be expected.
The successful candidate will be an experienced Operational Excellence professional with change
management experience in a large, complex, global company. S/he should have international experience
and must bring a track record of significant accomplishments with companies in highly competitive
industries that have advanced operational excellence programs and strong records of growth. Critically,
this person must have experience taking an organization through to Lean / WCM / 6 sigma status.
Experience
▪ Degree in Engineering/Manufacturing, and minimum 7 years of experience working in best-inclass
manufacturing environment, ideally in a customer-oriented environment
▪ Experienced in High mix, low volume environment within medical devices / electronics industries
will be an advantage
▪ Display strong influencing and planning skills to drive initiatives and projects
▪ Demonstrate strong understanding on concept of Lean / 6 sigma principles
