Responsibilities
1. Participates as a member of the business IT team providing Level 3 and 4 support to Linux-based servers and workstations in product development lab
2. Provide operational support activities in setup of robust, reliable and secure IT systems and network infrastructure in lab compute space including:
- Linux-based system administration
- Support end-to-end business IT infrastructure solutions, configuration and change management including problem resolution and root cause analysis, performance and status monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting.
- Business continuity and recovery plan
- Improvement and simplification of lab compute space infrastructure architecture
3. Provide mentoring and guidance to junior business IT support engineers.
4. Applies in-depth or broad technical knowledge and expertise to provide solutions across one or more technology areas.
5. Implements process changes as needed to meet ongoing business IT objectives in compliance with organization policies and processes.
Job Requirements
Essential
- Min a Bachelor / Postgraduate degree in IT, Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- Typically, six or more years of in-depth Linux system administration knowledge and practical experience
- General purpose coding skills using languages such as Bash, Python, etc
- Working knowledge of DNS, DHCP, LDAP, Kerberos, SNMP, SMTP, SSH, HTTP/S, TLS
- Demonstrate technical leadership and general project management skills
- Knowledge of current IT industry trends and technologies
- Good team player; self-starter; pro-active
- Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to think out-of-the-box to apply technology to solve business IT problems
- Ability to work in a geographically dispersed, dynamic and changing environment
A Plus
- Linux-based certification such as RHCE, LPIC, etc
- Experience with IT infrastructure support and processes (e.g. VMware virtualization, security, network, server/web/DB related applications)
- Familiar with networking concepts such as L2/L3 switches, firewall, VLAN, TCP/IP, VPN
- Cyber security knowledge
- Data Center management
