About The Job
Job Responsibilities
- Daily BAU support for databases
- Run projects relating to databases
- Installation, upgrading, patching, servicing requests, resolving incidents and problems relating to databases under direct management of KGI in accordance to financial audit and compliance requirements;
- Provide design, consultation, and advice on database matters;
- Design and develop the data architecture focusing on performance, scalability, and flexibility throughout the entire data life cycle;
- Subject matter expert for all database matters, not limited to, databases that are being managed by vendors for outsourced applications;
- Enhance plans and improve database performance and operation efficiency through database tuning, etc;
- Improve and enhance the existing stored procedure performance;
- Scheduler tasks and database monitoring (SSIS);
- Involved in database related projects (such as data warehousing or MSSQL 2014 Refresh);
- Manage database backup & disaster recovery of database.
- Work on database related budget and workplan;
- Management of database related contracts;
- Explore new database technology that could improve the workflow;
- Automation of the database work process to enhance operation efficiency;
- Management of database related contract and vendor;
- Any other ad-hoc responsibilities assigned.
Requirements:
- Additional experience with other RDBMS such as Sybase or Oracle and NoSQL databases will be advantageous;
- Strong understanding of database architecture with MS AlwaysOn / Mirror / Replication / failover cluster;
- Certification in Microsoft SQL Server;
- Experience and Knowledge in ETL, OLAP and SSRS is a plus;
- Experience with Microsoft Windows;
- Experienced in Windows Powershell to automate DBA tasks including regular maintenance jobs;
- Experience in capacity monitoring and performance analysis;
- Knowledgeable in database replication and database performance optimisation;
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP network, DNS, LB;
- Experience in project management/implementation, and vendor management;
- Ability to work in a team as well as work under pressure with minimum supervision;
- Having previous financial instituiton BAU support will be added advantage;
- Good presentation and communication skills.
- Diploma / Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent.
- Exposure in financial industry with good working experience and understanding of various business processes and flows in Asset classes like Equity and Back Office Systems
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in administration of Microsoft SQL
