A key member of the Procurement team and responsible for purchasing activities and ensure that purchased products are both cost-efficient and of high quality that meets the organization's standards.
Job Scope:
- Prepare and monitor long-term and short-term inventory and procurement planning through the purchasing cycle including request for quotation, PO creation and PO follow-up
- Negotiates and coordinates with suppliers and cross functional teams for best possible price purchases
- Coordinates with other departments internally, on stock availability and delivery schedules and to maintain tight inventory control
- Liaise with suppliers for shipment collection
- Responsible to source for New Suppliers or Vendors and manage cost saving & cost reduction initiative; in both Local and Overseas.
- Access the order requirement & release Purchase Orders according to workflow
- Responsible to build rapport and maintain excellent business relationships with existing Local and Overseas suppliers
- Conduct regular meetings with Key Suppliers to review and improve performance and improve on key performance indicators
- Monitor supply market conditions to ensure sustainable supply and achieve competitive costing
- Responsible to update and maintain documentation for audit and ISO purposes
- To liaise with Finance and suppliers on payment issues
- Any adhoc duties and projects as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree / Diploma or equivalent in Business / Supply Chain
- At least 2-3 years of relevant working experience in procurement/purchasing for the Food/Fast Moving Consumer Goods industry will be preferred
- Well verse in Microsoft office application
- Good administrative and problem-solving skills
- Team player who is driven and self-motivated with attention to detail and strong numeracy
- Excellent negotiations communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
