Social Work Assistant

A. Administrative Support

1. Assist administrative staff with their duties and responsibilities, such as managing inquiries and referrals, food ration distribution, and counter duties.

2. Prepare and compile periodic reports for external agencies including MSF, NCSS, and the Straits Times. This may involve SPMF reports, staff accreditation, and FCF submissions.

3. Manage administrative email correspondence, including handling referrals, inquiries, and broadcast messages.

4. Support in data entry for SPMF applications, verify submissions, and prepare related reports.

5. Handle procurement and sourcing processes as needed.

6. Prepare and organize the Centre's reports for management committee meetings.

B. Casework & Counselling Support

1. Support caseworkers in developing intervention plans, including tasks such as conducting home visits, accompanying clients to appointments, and assisting with ad hoc ration applications.

2. Collaborate in evaluating casework intervention processes and outcomes to identify areas for improvement.

C. Facilities Management

1. Contribute to maintaining the Centre's premises and facilities to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for both clients and staff.

2. Ensure the security of the Centre, including adherence to fire safety protocols and other safety measures.

3. Arrange and set up meeting rooms for training sessions, meetings, and refreshments as necessary.

D. Other Duties

1. Extend support to all existing and future affiliated operations of the Centre as required.

2. Fulfill any additional responsibilities assigned by the Reporting Officer and/or Service Unit Head.


Other requirements

1. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (basic proficiency required).

2. 1 to 3 years of working experience, preferably in Social Services.

3. Mature, independent, creative, and resourceful with flexible thinking.

4. Excellent people and communication skills.

5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

6. Strong understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity.

7. Demonstrated commitment to professional development and growth.
