This is an individual contributor role where the Assistant Actuarial Manager will report to the Director and be responsible for contributing Asset Liability Management (ALM) related expertise to financial risk management, financial reporting and analysis, and product development to maximize value for the company. The Assistant Manager will collaborate across the Singapore team, including working directly with the Chief Actuary and will also collaborate with colleagues in our Regional Office and across the globe. Key Responsibilities:
- Production of ALM related quarter end deliverables such as Explanation of Investment Results (EoIR) for Drivers of Earnings (DOE), Earnings at Risk (EaR), Capital at Risk (CaR) and other management reporting requirements
- Conduct robust analysis into company financials on ALM matters and collaborate with other ALM teams, Finance, Investment and Regional/Corporate Office to implement mitigation strategies such as hedging
- Provide technical support to the pricing team on ALM matters for new product initiatives as well as inforce management for existing products
- Lead drafting of investment Portfolio Policies and Parameter (PPP) for new products and reviewing PPP for existing products
- Collaborate with other employees to build and enhance processes to ensure efficient workflows and a strong control environment
- Conduct any ad-hoc risk quantification & analysis and contribute to mitigation strategies and alternatives.
- Additional duties as may be required from time to time by Senior Management.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Life Insurance industry
- Actuarial exam progression with a recognized international actuarial body, investment track is preferred (Eg: SOA QFI and IFoA SP5, SP6 and SA7)
- Experience with any valuation/capital framework is preferred (Eg: IFRS17, Economic Capital, RBC2, Solvency II)
- Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office is required
- Strong technical skills and problem-solving ability, able to work in a dynamic environment
- Strong cross team collaboration skills
- Experience with Moody’s AXIS or an alternative actuarial modelling software is preferred
