Duties include:
- Conduct day to day Capesize chartering activities and negotiation charter parties to maximize profits and minimize risks through all routes of the sector
- Negotiation of Charter Party terms and requirements
- Internal Communication with commercial team in Seoul Office to exchange ideas and share the information
- Maintain daily / weekly / monthly activity reports
- Key contributor for the P&L or the organization
- Conduct day to day FFA to manage the risk exposure
- Developing relationships with customers and brokers
- Calculation and pricing of shipping deals (Vessel and cargo)
- Following performance of voyages and working closely with Operations Department
- Secure spot and forward cargoes/COAs/tonnages to cover position
- Involve in handling and settlement of any issues, disputes related to chartering vessels & cargoes
Job Requirements:
- Minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in maritime studies or related discipline
- At least 10 years experience in chartering as a Chartering Manager handling Capesize Vessels
- Bulk carrier experience is a must
- Experience in fixing charter contracts for many dry bulk cargoes Coal/Ore/Bauxite etc.
- Able to calculate and evaluate voyage estimation
- Ability to communicate and dealing with overseas business clients and preparation of daily reporting to Head Office in Korea. Proficiency of Korean and English dialects (spoken and written) are essential for this position
- Able to work individually but also as a team player
- Sufficient knowledge of shipping decarbonization regulations
- Ability to work in a fast – paced and at times stressful environment
- Overtime working is required
