Job Description
- Designs, develops, documents, prototypes, and validates new automation products.
- Design for manufacturing (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and Concurrent engineering.
- Detail fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and layout drawings.
- Selection and sizing of standard components available off the shelf.
- Undertake new product development or be involved in sustaining engineering/CIPs.
- Research new automation technologies and continuous improvement for performance and system optimization.
- Develop a plan for equipment installation and validation at the customer or main business sites.
- Work with customers to gather requirements, review designs with customers, gather feedback, and create an execution plan.
- Work with customers and teams to solve problems during installation and volume manufacturing.
- Drive equipment optimization, quality assurance, cost reduction activities and improve user experience activities.
- Other duties/activities as assigned by management.
Job Specification
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or relevant degree.
- Proficient in using 3D CAD modelling SW (Creo and SolidWorks will act as advantages) and associated Finite Element Analysis tools.
- Ability to read & interpret engineering data, scientific journals, technical procedures, international test standards & type-approval specifications.
- Great attitude and desire for self-improvement and independent problem-solving.
- Desire to learn and implement product testing, validation, and qualification methodologies.
- Willingness, ability, and desire to travel internationally to work with customers and team members.
- Good track record in:
- Structural, kinematics, and dynamic analysis and FEA simulation
- Strong in thermodynamic
- Geometrical tolerance and dimensional analysis (e.g. stack-up error)
- Engineering material selection
- Design troubleshooting
- Application of analysis tools like FMEA, DOE
- 3 years and above of experience is preferred, fresh grads are welcome to apply.
