Job Title: Design and Development Engineer

Our Client: Our client is a prestigious Global Innovations Organization providing IT Solutions and Research across multiple markets. They are looking for a Design and Development Software Engineer to join their team here in Singapore!

The Responsibilities:

  • Engage in full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using Java, C, and C++ technologies
  • Adhere to coding standards and apply them consistently in development work
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues, offering effective solutions
  • Interact with users to identify problems and gather design requirements
  • Demonstrate leadership skills to lead teams and projects, ensuring timely delivery
  • Independently follow the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process and document changes
  • Quickly acquire and adapt to new technologies required by the project
  • Design solutions for complex projects
  • Collaborate with customers to review software requirements and propose technical solutions and architectural designs for sprint enhancements
  • Participate in planning schedules and work assignments
  • Conduct risk analysis, design, mock-ups, documentation, unit testing, system testing, code reviews, and support demonstrations to users, including deploying features to production
  • Mentor new team members, aiding them in learning the domain and tools/technologies used in the program
  • Manage Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and ensure regular updates of IDE tools

The Requirements:

  • A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree is required, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field, with more than 10 years of experience in Java/JEE
  • Strong hands-on experience with technologies such as Java, JEE, Spring 5.x, Spring Security, Spring-WS, JPA, Hibernate, PostgreSQL, PL/SQL, XML, JSON, JWT, etc
  • Proficiency in designing and developing Automated Testing scripts using shell scripts (bash/sh, sed, awk), Selenium, Cucumber, UFT, SoapUI
  • Experience with testing frameworks and tools like Junit, Mockito, including defect tracking and management
  • Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD tools integration, including JIRA, Jenkins, BitBucket, SonarQube, Eclipse, Hp Fortify, etc
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies, sprint lifecycle, JIRA, and Agile techniques is essential
  • Understanding of Red Hat Linux, Windows OS, and Virtualization
  • Capable of developing new technologies, modifying existing software structures, and providing technical guidance for complex projects. Reviews final draft documents for compliance and completeness. Monitors the status of deliverables' preparation and delivery. Leads or participates in meetings, design reviews, working groups, and briefings. Identifies issues and recommends solutions
  • Ability to evaluate open-source products and make recommendations to leadership based on research findings

Requirements Skill sets (Good to Have)

  • Experience with Model Driven Development, SysML, UML, and Eclipse UML Plugins for design
  • Familiarity with Angular Framework, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, and related technologies
  • Proficiency in testing frameworks and tools like Karma and Protractor for frontend testing
  • Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) components including EC2, RDS, Elastic Load Balancer (ELB), EBS, S3, etc
