Responsibilities
- Daily operations of the accounting department including: month, quarter, and end-year process, accounts payable/receivable, GST reporting (quarterly), general ledger, treasury and debt activity
- Work with colleague(s) on cash receipts, bank reconcilliation, monitor accounts receivable collection, accounts payables and claims.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements (GL, BS, P&L, AR/AP, Trial Balance, Cash Flow Statement)
- Review GST submission, and prepare interco-billing
- Handle & process HR onboarding/offboarding, staff claims, work pass applications & renewals
- Liaise with external auditors
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
- Coordinate and complete annual audits
- Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
- Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Meet financial accounting objectives
- Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
Requirements
- Proven working experience as an accountant
- Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases, Oracle Netsuite preferred
- Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to direct and supervise
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
