As an Infrastructure Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the CTO Office, Global Technology Applied Research , you develop knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Through this work you begin to apply your proficiency in a single application or technical methodology.
Job responsibilities
• To support infrastructure build out for allocated GTAR projects in the field of quantum communications and cryptography, providing solution installation and configuration of both hardware and software
• Applies technical knowledge to assignments from installation through to testing the performance of the infrastructure and understanding and verifying that requirements were successfully met
• Able to see through day to day work assignments through to completion with minimal guidance and within documented parameters, escalating issues to appropriate leaders when required
• Able to draft and contribute to documentation of technical solution and processes
• Coordination with assigned vendors to ensure on time and reliable delivery of solutions
• Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
• Travelling for work for extended period of time for projects could be required
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer/Info-communications Engineering or related disciplines
• Minimum 2 years of experience required in technical role in Networking or Telecommunications
• Proficient knowledge of hardware, networking terminology, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments
• Very good understanding and experience with network protocols including and not limited to WAN, Routing, Layer 2 and IPV4/IPV6
• High proficiency in one specific infrastructure technology and general proficiency of relevant networking technologies
• Basic technical knowledge of additional technical domains
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
• Familiarity with optical engineering with hands-on experience on optical networking systems
• Must be able to work independently in a fast paced, ambiguous environment and take initiative
• Proven attention to detail, strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems without guidance is a strong advantage
