Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Value Selling Sales Representative to join our client, specializing in the maritime industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving sales and growth by developing and implementing value-based selling strategies. This role requires a deep understanding of the maritime sector, excellent relationship-building skills, and a strong ability to communicate the unique value propositions of products and services.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Development:
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the maritime industry.
• Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospects through proactive outreach, networking, and market research. Ideal customers are new builds and retro-fits
2. Client Engagement:
• Build and nurture long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including shipowners, operators, and other industry professionals.
• Conduct regular meetings and presentations to understand client needs and demonstrate how our solutions can add value.
3. Value Proposition Development:
• Collaborate with marketing and product teams to create compelling value propositions tailored to the maritime industry.
• Clearly articulate the benefits and ROI of our products and services to potential clients.
4. Consultative Selling:
• Employ a consultative sales approach to identify client challenges and recommend customized solutions.
• Conduct thorough needs assessments and develop proposals that address client-specific requirements.
5. Market Analysis:
• Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to inform sales strategies and identify opportunities for growth.
• Provide feedback to internal teams on market dynamics and client preferences.
6. Sales Strategy and Execution:
• Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve or exceed sales targets.
• Use CRM tools to track sales activities, manage the sales pipeline, and provide accurate sales forecasts.
7. Negotiation and Closing:
• Lead contract negotiations, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements that align with company objectives.
• Successfully close deals and ensure smooth handovers to implementation and support teams.
8. Collaboration:
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and customer support, to ensure a cohesive approach to client engagement and service delivery.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of sales processes and strategies.
9. Product Knowledge:
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of our products and services, as well as their applications in the maritime industry.
• Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and technological advancements.
10. Reporting and Analysis:
• Prepare regular sales reports and updates for senior management, highlighting key metrics, successes, and areas for improvement.
• Analyze sales performance data to identify trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Maritime Studies, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the maritime industry, with a proven track record of value-based selling.
• Strong understanding of the maritime sector, including industry-specific challenges and opportunities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and results-driven mindset.
• Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
• Resilient, as the sales cycle can be long at times
• Proficiency in Japanese or Korean markets will be an added advantage
