Job Purpose:
To support the mission of MWS Active Ageing Centres to enable community seniors to age well and age in place through the implementation of the ABC and 2S services of AAC, namely: Active Ageing Porgrammes (AAP), Befriending and Buddying, Care Co-ordiantion, Social Connector and Community Screening and Outreach, with a focus on programme co-ordination and administration.
Job Responsibilitites:
Assist the Manager of the AAC in the following areas:
Programmes
Plan, organise and provide logistic and administrative support for Active Ageing Programmes that focus on building the elderly’s self-help capacity including
- Planning, co-ordinating and implementing the Active Ageing Programmes (AAP) in the 5 Domains – Physical, Social, Learning, Cognitive and Volunteerism.
- Evaluate the effectiveness/outcome of the programme and service level. Work with other Programme Co-ordinators and Volunteer Management Executives of AACs as a whole to come up with approaches that will be beneficial to seniors and enhance the service delivery of the centres.
- Collaborate and co-ordinate programmes with external providers and agencies. This includes community events and outings.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain a daily register of seniors who participate in activities and programmes at the Centre.
- Maintain data current in the system and assist in data reporting.
- Assist with collection of fees and donations, issue receipts, and requisition of Centre’s supplies and materials.
- Provide support to the centre cleaner to promote and maintain the cleanliness of the centre according to National Environmental Agency’s Environmental Sanitation Programme.
- Ensure Centre’s maintenance tasks are done regularly, eg. air con servicing, pest control servicing, LEW reviews etc.
- To assist the centre manager in ad hoc administration when needed.
Volunteer Engagement
- Encourage senior participation and volunteerism through promotion of senior-initiated ideas with senior co-partnering in implementation.
- Assist the Volunteer Management Executive to engage volunteers to run programmes and activities.
- Provide guidance and coach volunteers on their specific roles as Programme Assistants, depending on the Centre’s programme
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 'O' Level holder or ITE diploma holder
- Any relevant diploma in social services, humanities or health care.
- 2 years of experience in related area.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Occasional weekend duties with overtime pay or time off-in-lieu as contractually
- Good interpersonal communications skills
- Team member skills
