NCCS Research Admin Department is looking for a dedicated Lab Assistant who can help manage our Glassware Autoclave Room.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Autoclaving and Washing
- Collect glassware and materials to be washed and autoclaved from laboratories.
- Perform glassware washing and autoclave sterilization of glassware and liquids as needed.
- Inspect glassware for cleanliness and proper sanitation.
Report any malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor for immediate attention. - Comply with laboratory safety practices, policies, and procedures.
2. Quality Inspection
- Conduct quality control assessments on sterilizers and document the records.
- Responsible for the maintenance of general laboratory equipment.
3. Inventory Management
- Support researchers by supplying extra glassware as requested and maintaining a log of their needs for delivery to respective labs.
- Monitor and manage the inventory of glassware, ensuring an adequate supply is available for daily operations. Collaborate with team members to identify and prioritize glassware needs.
4. Ad-hoc Duties
- Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.
Requirements:
- GCE āNā Level Certificate
- Prior working experience in lab setting is preferred, but not required. On-site training will be provided.
- Knowledge of sterile techniques and autoclaves is an advantage.
- Basic skill level using Microsoft Office Suite
- Good communication and inter-personal skills.
- Well-organized and able to comfortably work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to lift heavy objects (6kg)
