Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with marine engines, auxiliary engine, steering systems, and other components etc.
- Perform repairs on inboard and outboard engines, including fuel systems, cooling systems, and exhaust systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance to ensure all shipboard system are working in satisfactory order.
- Ensure the cleanliness of ship and engine room when onboard
- Provide detailed reports on work performed and explain the nature of repairs and services to customers.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to marine service and repairs.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of services performed, including time, parts used, and labour.
- Utilize service management software to log and track repairs and maintenance tasks.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other technicians and service team members to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians as needed.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in marine mechanics or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in marine service and repair.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and marine service equipment.
- Knowledge of marine engines, aux engines and cargo pumps.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, work in various weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks.
