Risk Analytics Analyst

The Company:

Aramco Trading was established as Saudi Aramco’s trading arm in 2011 under the approval of Saudi Aramco’s Board of Directors. It established its headquarters in Al-Midra Tower in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia and have 4 other global offices in London, Singapore, Dubai and America. With five offices currently operating worldwide, Aramco Trading has broader access to markets, a wider client base, a more talented and diversified workforce, and a more sophisticated and integrated global business model.

Today, the company is recognized globally as a critical trading partner for refiners, shipping companies, financial institutions, end-users, and other product-trading companies. The company trades across the barrel including Crude, Middle distillates, Light distillates, bulk petrochemicals, polyolefin and recently clean energy like LNG, Emission and Biofuels.

Aramco Trading Singapore (ATS) is the largest subsidiary out of the kingdom and is actively trading within the region and globally across all products since 2018.


The Function:

The Risk Analytics Analyst is responsible for executing risk analytics processes and methodologies within the Market Risk group. Produces and issues Market Risk analytical reports such as VaR and defines and conducts stress and scenario testing. Performs risk analysis using models and runs “what-if” analysis based on market developments. Interfaces with management on Risk Analytics related issues and escalates breaches as needed. Provides input on market risk analytical requirements to IT and aids in identifying and selecting vendors to provide new quantitative analytical technology solutions.


Key Accountabilities:

· Executes risk analytics processes and methodologies of the Market Risk group.

· Produces and issues Market Risk analytical reports (e.g. VaR, stress tests, scenario outputs, etc.) and escalates to management as needed

· Back tests quantitative risk models/capabilities

· Performs risk analysis using models and runs “what-if” analysis based on market developments.

· Determines modelling for new products, performs enhancements to VaR/stress algorithms and manages price correlations.

· Stays abreast of market risk analytical best practices, identifies improvement opportunities, and works to improve the performance of the Market Risk team.

· Provides input on market risk analytical requirements to IT and aids in identifying and selecting vendors to provide new quantitative analytical technology solutions.

· Performs analysis as directed by the line manager and generally contribute to the activities of the Market Risk team.


Requirements:

· Bachelor’s Degree in a Quantitative Field (mathematics, economics, finance, engineering), CFA, FRM, or ERP certification preferred

· A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in trading risk management or banking

· Experience with energy commodities preferred

· Financial and valuation analysis experience

· Knowledge and application of decision analysis, techniques and statistical modelling relating to both market and credit risk control models

· Experience at developing Market Risk analytical models, methods, and reporting (e.g. VaR, stress testing, etc.)

· Experience in developing and validating market/credit risk control models as well as saturation of limits

· Experience in evaluating hedge efficiency and forward curves management

· Understanding of commodity trading business

· Analytical skills and knowledge of oil trading financial instruments

· Knowledge of crude, oil products, LPG, and chemicals industry preferred

· Knowledge coupled with experiences in implementation of new ETRM system

· Awareness of latest market developments

· Strong skill set in VBA and SQL programming

· Good working knowledge of Market Data systems (e.g. Thomson-Reuters, Bloomberg)

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

. Attention to details with a strong process execution focus
