Our client is a global MNC and a key player in the manufacturing sector. In response to business demands, they are currently seeking to recruit a Purchasing Executive to join their team for ongoing transformation projects. The company is situated in the East region.
Responsibilities:
Sourcing and Contracting:
- Execute end-to-end sourcing processes for direct and indirect materials and services.
- Conduct sourcing activities and manage requests for information, proposals, and quotations.
- Negotiate with vendors to secure favorable terms on price, delivery, and location.
- Evaluate bids and recommend awards with clear justifications.
- Utilize designated systems (e.g., SAP/Bizagi/Jira) for approvals and tracking.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders for timely deliveries and manage insurance claims for import shipments.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to optimize purchasing processes.
- Address supply-related issues such as shortages, minimum order quantities, and specification changes.
- Liaise with supply planners to align procurement with stock requirements and forecasts.
- Manage purchase order creation.
Supplier Management:
- Assess and qualify new vendors, coordinating with finance for SAP vendor setup.
Ensure vendor compliance with corporate standards, including code of conduct and quality certificates. - Resolve nonconformance issues and discrepancies with vendors and stakeholders through root cause analysis and pragmatic solutions.
- Maintain and update the approved vendor list and contribute to vendor performance reviews.
- Support material safety data sheet (SDS) and good supplier quality (GSQ) processes.
Requirements:
- Possess 3 to 5 years of experience in direct procurement, ideally within the chemicals industry or a manufacturing setting.
- Proficient in tasks such as planning, order fulfillment, import freight booking and clearance, as well as warehousing and storage.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the chemicals industry.
