RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead a team to formulate and implement strategies/action plans for forging partnerships with universities - undertaking research and analysis of markets and universities, as well as trends and developments in the international higher education and research, to identify opportunities for the SMU community, focusing on forging strategic partnerships and research collaborations with universities in the Americas, Europe and Asia.
- Advise and support management in SMU's external engagements, including managing incoming visits by partners/higher education institutes and supporting outbound missions.
- Formulate, implement and evaluate strategies/action plans to raise awareness and build reputation for SMU within the global university community, including through university networks and alliances.
- Post-graduate qualifications or Bachelor Degree in International Relations/Affairs, International Marketing or fields of study with a global-orientation.
- 8 to 10 years experience in international relations/higher education work, or working on cross-cultural programmes for the Senior Assistant Director position (at least 12 years for the Associate Director position).
- Proven high level skills and achievements in partner and project management or business development working with diverse teams and across geographies/cultures. Experience in operating in/growing and developing partnerships in the Americas, Asia/China and Australasia is advantageous.
- A strategic, analytical and creative thinker, with strong communications/writing skills.
- Entrepreneurial, resourceful and resilient.
- Meticulous with an eye for detail and an advocate for good processes and documentation.
- Driven, and with the ability to manage multiple, competing tasks and deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.
- A good combination of high intelligence, emotional and cultural quotient.
- Successful in leading, coaching and motivating diverse teams.
