The Opportunity:

Adecco is partnering with one of the top players in the agriculture commodity trading business with a presence in over 170 countries, and we are seeking a talented individual to join their business as a Trade Operations Executive! Reporting directly to the Trade Operations Manager, the successful incumbent will manage daily import/export shipping operations, handle letter of credit negotiation and issuance, and support laytime/demurrage calculations.

  • Work days/hours: Mon - Fri, 9am - 6pm

The Job:

  • Monitor logistics and interpret contract terms to ensure timely shipments and customer satisfaction.
  • Review and amend documentary letters of credit to comply with trade terms.
  • Manage letters of credit, import/export documents, and laytime calculations.
  • Handle shipment expenses, client receivables, and payables for accurate financial records.
  • Manage vessel nominations and load orders for efficient cargo operations.
  • Prepare and arrange export documentation to meet regulatory and trade requirements.
  • Track vessel schedules and arrange timely loading and unloading of bulk and container shipments.
  • Collaborate with shipping agents, surveyors, and suppliers to resolve shipment issues.
  • Maintain organized vessel files for tax and legal compliance.

The Talent:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business, International Trade, Logistics, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in trading operations, logistics, or commodities.
  • Strong understanding of contract terms and international trade practices.
  • Familiarity with letters of credit, import/export regulations, and shipping documentation.
  • Proficiency in laytime computation and handling shipping-related financial transactions.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability to changing situations.
