Responsibilities
· Take responsibility for ensuring smooth post-fixture operations of assigned vessels in close cooperation with our chartering desk, the vessels’ masters and all relevant external parties (charterers, agents, shippers, receivers, terminals and bunker suppliers)
· Take overall responsibility of all cargo hold related matters for their vessels under management. This includes monitoring and advising on hold cleaning requirements and operations, as well as closely coordinating with chartering and operations colleagues about cargo/charterer/terminal requirements for cargo hold conditions.
· Arrange, coordinate and monitor vessels’ sailing schedule and vessels’ port activities
· Issue invoices, perform laytime calculations, collect outstanding hire/freight, handle agents and order bunker stems
· Monitor vessels’ performance (speed-consumption) and avoid off-hire
· Analyse the economic performance of the vessels by comparing the actual results in relation to the pre-calculation of the trip
· Cooperate with chartering on amendments to CP clauses when required.
· Studying upcoming regulations and requirements and advising colleagues on needed actions
· Keep a close eye on all related markets next to dry bulk shipping.
· Developing and intensifying relationships with relevant external parties (charterers, agents, shippers, receivers, terminals and bunker suppliers)
· Supervise, advise and support junior colleagues in all matters relating to vessel operations.
Requirements
· Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar position
· Great understanding of dry bulk shipping and related cargoes
· Experience with geared and non-geared vessels.
· Ability to plan and execute in a structured and proactive manner
· Since we are operating worldwide, good knowledge of English is required. Additional language skills are a plus
· Ability to work with Microsoft Office products
