Purpose:
Ensure that University wide events (including community engagement activities) are professionally managed within the budget and promote the image of James Cook University Singapore
Responsibilities:
- Develop an annual events (including community engagement activities) schedule/calendar and budget
- Plan, manage and execute each event and activities as scheduled
- To advise the most suitable approach to events, i.e., hybrid, virtual or in-person
- Identify and deal with the relevant licensing requirement of each event
- Actively recruit new groups to attend the different types of events
- Work in association with Director Brand and Marketing Services and the team to develop a promotion strategy for each event
- Develop and implement an event review strategy and provide a formal report to the management after each event
- Collaborate with the different departments to maximize potential and meet event goals and objective
- Ensure all operations accord with established the University procedures, policies and established practices
Pre-requisites:
- Bachelor degree with major in marketing or event management
- Relevant experience in events planning and production
- High level command of the English language, both oral and written.
- Excellent organizations and planning skills
- Experience at negotiating with a range of suppliers to ensure the best outcomes for the campus
- Good IT skills and able to adapt to new technology to use in events
- Ability to network and build relationships
- Team player with a strong commitment to a team approach
- Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Be flexible in their approach to the work environment
