DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Engineering Manager reports to the Project Director and shall be responsible for the effective design effort and coordination of the Sub-Contractor's discipline engineering professionals. The Engineering Manager shall ensure that all designs comply with the requirements of the Work; that all Work is efficiently and effectively executed in accordance with the criteria, specifications and standards listed in the CONTRACT; and that the designs comply with safe and reasonable standards as accepted within the offshore oil and gas industry. The Engineering Manager shall be responsible for his/her scope of work as given below:
- Planning and scheduling the engineering execution work for the FPSO to meet the overall project schedule including what is required to be subcontracted and /or included in supplier’s scope.
- Ensure compliance to all codes and standards including regulatory requirement while the design and engineering is performed to ensure that project acceptance is not jeopardized due to errors and omissions in this respect.
- Ensuring that all engineering designs & drafting works, preparation of MTO's/BOM's and preparation of As Built drawings are carried out in accordance with the Project HSE and Quality policy.
- Planning and ensuring that suitably qualified and experienced engineering and drafting personnel are available in various engineering disciplines.
- Ensuring that all engineering design and drafting work are carried out in accordance with the applicable standards and codes including COMPANY standards, if any.
- Ensuring that all COMPANY requirements regarding engineering are addressed and corrective actions are taken if any.
- Ensuring that non-conformances to the HSE/Quality system are properly addressed and corrective actions are taken.
- Interpretation of various design drawings, COMPANY specifications, etc and preparation and timely completion of design tasks.
- Interfacing with COMPANY Site Representative on project engineering related matters through Project Director.
- Interfacing with, establishing and controlling various Subcontractors and their design, regularizing TQ’s/Site Instructions through drawing revisions, reviewing subcontractor’s shop drawing, etc. as appropriate.
- When needed, liaise with Classification Society/Certifying Authority on all aspects of design.
- Liaison with the CONTRACTOR representative and construction team regarding design issues and progress.
- In conjunction with the Project QA/QC Manager ensure COMPANY requirements and all technical aspects are addressed in the Inspection and Test Plan.
- Ensuring all design issues of available materials, transport requirements, regulations and constructability are carefully considered.
- Maintaining responsibility for design integrity for the project duration.
- Reporting weekly on progress of detailed design activities.
- Manage engineering man-hours, cost, change order request.
- Follow-up with subcontractors to ensure that all engineering documents are delivered as per schedule.
- Provide engineering support for fabrication and installation.

REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum educational requirements of a Bachelors’ and/or Masters’ degree in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering or equivalent disciplines.
- Direct experience working on FPSO projects.
- Minimum 15-18 years’ experience, with Oil & Gas projects (fixed installations and FPSOs), with significant experience working as an engineering manager.
- Must have prior work experience with medium/ large sized brownfield and/or greenfield projects in the upstream Oil and Gas sector, in a similar role and possess a good understanding of project phases, milestones, deliverables, internal and external interfaces.
- Should have good interpersonal communication skills, structured but not rigid, should be able to take decisions and responsibility, pro-active and should possess good report writing skills.
- Good leadership skills to manage and develop a team.
