The National Institute of Education invites suitable applications for the position of Research Associate on a 24-month contract at the Office of Strategic Planning and Academic Quality.
Project Title: Strategic Planning and Academic Quality Surveys and Projects
Project Introduction: The Office of Strategic Planning and Academic Quality (SPAQ) takes the lead in helping to promote a culture of continuous self-improvement and the adoption of best practices to aid institute-wide planning, decision-making and quality assurance. Through the gathering of evidence-based feedback from various stakeholders, trend analysis and academic reviews, SPAQ provides insights and analysis to aid leadership decisions as well as programmatic and pedagogical enhancements.
Requirements:
Essential
- A degree (with honours) in fields like statistics or applied mathematics, data analytics, physics or relevant subjects or at least 3 years of experience in applied mathematics, data collection and analysis, data analytics, or other quantitative disciplines
- At least 3 to 5 years’ relevant working experience, with a strong interest and track record in social science research and/or institutional analytics and/or organisational development
- Data visualization knowledge: Tableau
- Excellent conceptualising, analytical and writing skills
- Strong working knowledge of statistics, data analysis, and/or data analytics
- Experience with experimental design, sampling and analysis
- Strong capability in using SPSS for complex statistical analysis, such as multi-level regressions
- Innovative, strong analytical and algorithmic problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Meticulous, with good organisational skills
- Strong team player with a pleasant disposition
- Values and attributes demonstrating integrity, professionalism, adaptability and willingness to go the extra mile
Preferred
- A Master’s degree
- Academic qualifications or experience with data science and/or analytics
- Experience in survey administration
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Ability to contribute to team assignments effectively
- Experience working in a publicly-funded educational institution
Responsibilities:
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Conduct trend research and analysis
- Conduct literature reviews
- Administer surveys to internal and external students and stakeholders
- Assist in the production of academic quality research reports and presentations
- Manage research data and maintain research records
- Preparation of research reports including literature review to relevant stakeholders
- Manage research process and keep up-to-date research records and meetings
- Provide full secretariat support for research committee
- Assist in ad-hoc and special assignments / corporate events as required
- Handle day-to-day project matters and other administrative details
