Role overview
A barista has a previous café experience either from previous jobs or in house test promotions. He is comfortable with interacting with members and guests to cultivate an enjoyable experience for the guest that goes above and beyond basic coffee making. He is comfortable and familiar with coffee making and latte art as well as classic alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks. He has a good coffee knowledge but most of all, he is passionate about coffee and the FnB industry. His responsibilities include that of a barback, junior bartender but not limited to;
Barista responsibilities:
● Setting up the bar and coffee station according to the setup and closing sheet
● Knowledge and execution of Mise en place for menu drinks
● Able to run a coffee station up to standards
● Bussing and execution of coffees and drinks
● Able to support other bar stations and head bartender
● Understanding of POS system
● Coffee knowledge
● Basic spirits and drinks knowledge
● Coffee making and latte art
● Classic drinks making
● Processing payments
● Understanding stock orders and replenishment
● Familiarity and interaction with members of the club
● Staying guest focused and nurturing a good members experience
● Order taking of food and beverage
● Ability to guide junior bartender and steward personnel
● Understanding sequence of service standards
