This position is responsible to provide legal advice and full in-house legal support to the business, finance and operational functions including advising, negotiating, drafting and vetting of legal documentation; as well as corporate administrative matters pertaining to compliance with government regulations, litigation and dispute resolution.
Responsibilities
- Provide advice on a broad spectrum of legal issues on Corporate Finance and the Group’s investments, project development business and operations worldwide, as well as to review, draft and vet procurement contracts and Project Finance deal documentation.
- Provide full in-house legal support to corporate management in the review and assessment of potential management risks, particularly in business contracts, trade practices, tax, intellectual property, licensing, employment, etc.
- Provide legal advice for relevant corporate policies, actions, governance and sound business practices to complement business operations.
- Render legal advice on litigation matters; as well as effectively manage and coordinate local and overseas company secretarial activities for all group companies
- Undertake such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the CEO.
Qualifications:
- This position requires at least 10-15 years post-qualificationexperience in a law firm, commercial and/or MNC environment
- Law degree from a reputable university or institution, Admitted to Singapore Bar, UK Bar or Qualification from other Common Law Jurisdiction.
- Sound understanding of the Singapore Companies Act, corporate/commercial laws and regulations.
- Familiarity with managing litigation and resolving disputes.
- Good knowledge of laws and legal issues pertaining to project finance, corporate finance and corporate governance with strong business sense and sound commercial acumen.
- Proven ability to deal with different management styles while remaining proactive and flexible; ability to influence key business leaders to drive change initiatives.
- Strong understanding and a commercial pro-business approach to handling legal issues.
- Ability to work collaboratively and develop strong working partnerships with Senior Management
- Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Meticulous, with strong initiative to find solutions and to take responsibility for completion of projects.
- Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize work with minimum supervision to meet tight deadlines
