Job Description
We are looking for a Research Assistant for the project “Beliefs and friction in the dating and marriage market”. The RA will be working full time in July – Dec 2024. The project aims at understanding the behaviour of partner seekers and characteristics desired by males and females from their potential partners in the dating and marriage markets using factorial design methodology. This opportunity is suitable for either a final year student or a recent graduate who desire to continue to a higher degree in economics or other social sciences.
Scope and Responsibilities:
- Building and maintaining relationship with research partners
- Preparing literature review, background research, and other draft content for grant proposals, academic papers, and project reports
- Setting up survey instruments within the online platform
- Collecting and managing research datasets as needed
- Conducting statistical analyses using Stata or R
Required skills and interests:
- Sincere interest in economic research in general
- Knowledge of Randomized Control Trials
- Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)
- Excellent command of Ms. Office suite (word, xlsx, ppt)
- Substantial training in quantitative methods
- Programming proficiency in Stata or R
Desirable:
- Graduate level course in econometrics/research method
- Prior experience on field research projects and RA work
Qualifications
Bachelor’s/master’s degree in economics, psychology, or related field
