Job Description:
- Responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting Unix-based systems to ensure their reliability, performance, and security.
- This role involves troubleshooting technical issues, performing system upgrades and regularly patching activities.
Key Responsibilities
1. System Administration:
- a. Maintain Red Hat Linux operating system servers.
- b. Monitor system performance and ensure high availability of infrastructure.
- c. Perform regular system upgrades and patches to maintain system security and performance.
- d. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
2. Troubleshooting and Support:
- a. Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on Unix systems.
- b. Provide second and third-level support for Unix-related incidents and problems.
- c. Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve complex technical issues.
- d. Maintain detailed documentation of incidents, changes, and solutions.
3. Performance Tuning and Optimization:
- a. Analyze system performance data and identify areas for improvement.
- b. Optimize system configurations to enhance performance and resource utilization.
4. Project Participation:
- a. Contribute to IT projects involving Unix systems, including new implementations or upgrades.
- b. Work with Release Manager to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
- a. Maintain documentation of Unix systems, configurations, and procedures.
- b. Generate regular reports on system performance, security, and capacity planning.
- c. Support Team Lead in preparing Root Cause Analysis report for high severity incidents.
- d. Escalate to vendor when necessary for incident resolution.
