Role Overview:
Role resides within the Risk, BCM and Control Assurance team in Customer Centre Singapore which oversees the operational risk related activities independently. Candidate is responsible for operational risk assessment as well as ensuring units are in compliance with policies and standards stipulated by the bank.
The candidate needs to be analytical, has the agility to closely adapt to change and ability to consistently identify, measure and monitor controls and escalate risk. The role covers the support of control assurance function with people manager responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute operational risk management initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objective.
- Establishes and oversees the applications of the bank’s policies, standards and regional operational handbook and governance. Engaging with stakeholders to create sustainable solutions implementing adequate controls.
- Conduct regular risk assessment and monitoring to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across customer center.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure risk considerations are integrated into business decisions.
- Independently assess risk and drive actions to address the root causes that persistently leads to operational lapses through in-depth review and challenging current processes.
- Perform deep-dive reviews or investigation into risk incidents to identify root cause(s) and provide recommendations to address the control weakness.
- Key support for internal/ external audit engagement facilitating timely submission of ‘request for information’ (RFI)
- Manage audit issues and ensure compensating controls are in place tracking with action owners for timely completion.
- Issues management through Key Risk Indicators (KRI), risk events review and risk mitigation to prevent repeat issues.
- Risk Reporting for monthly business review, risk forums and analyze trend and emerging risk as required.
- Support team in the management of Business Continuity Management Action.
- Active engagement and liaisons with key stakeholders such as Compliance, Legal, HR and Information Security on issues and reporting
- Support the develop of continuous risk trainings for the center and initiate risk campaigns to increase risk awareness in customer center.
Requirements:
- Degree holder with minimum 5 years of risk management experience in a bank
- Prior experience of risk or controls related functions.
- Knowledge of Customer Centre environment, preferably in a banking industry
- Prior experience of data analytics would be an added advantage.
- Detail-minded, organized and able to work independently.
- Self-motivated individual with strong risk mindset and control sense
- Strong teamwork values and initiative to support team when required.
- Experience in developing and reviewing robust controls will be an advantage.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on delivery.
- Analytical problem solving with good interpersonal and communications skills.
- Good knowledge of the bank’s products, services, processes, and procedures
- Knowledge of operational risk assessment methodology, including developing risk mitigation strategies will be a plus.
- Analytical skills to collate data, generate risk reports and analyze trends.
