The client of ours is one of the largest Logistics Organization Globally. They are currently expanding their team here in Singapore and is looking for a Business Development Manager. The role would require the individual to spearhead efforts to establish and maintain relationships with business partners to foster new business opportunities for the company for Freight Forwarding Services or Contract Logistics. The individual should be focused, possess strong communication skills, and exhibit critical thinking abilities when planning and executing strategies.
Responsibilities
- Identify and develop a pool of potential customers for freight forwarding, contract logistics, and transportation services in Singapore and other regions where the company operates.
- Maintain professional and positive relationships with both existing and prospective customers.
- Understand customer requirements and create proposals and quotations.
- Achieve set sales targets and provide timely strategic sales and marketing information.
- Identify target customers and build a sales pipeline to meet sales objectives.
- Ensure all business transactions align with the company's profit and loss objectives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the department head.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 to 8 years of relevant business development experience in Freight Forwarding, Contract Logistics, and Transportation.
- In-depth knowledge of the logistics industry in Singapore and the surrounding region.
- A degree in Supply Chain/Logistics or a related field.
- Experience in contract negotiations.
- Ability to work independently.
- A self-motivated team player driven to meet targets.
- Strong problem-solving and time management skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritize, work under pressure, and adhere to strict timelines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
