Position Overview:
To perform a variety of finance and administrative tasks. Assist in the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the users and by generally accepted accounting principles.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. To assist in the preparation of financial reports by generally accepted accounting principles and charity fund requirements;
2. To enter transactions into the MYOB and/or Quickbook system;
3. To assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts;
4. To process payment, including preparation of payment vouchers, online transactions and cheques;
5. To issue invoices as and when required;
6. To issue receipts for membership application, SASS applications and donations received;
7. To maintain a tax and non-tax-deductible receipt register;
8. To update and maintain the fixed assets register;
9. To prepare monthly bank reconciliation;
10. To reconcile monthly interco balances;
11. To prepare quarterly GST returns;
12. To bank in the cash collection once a week;
13. To participate in the financial audits;
14. To assist the Assistant Manager in various financial functions;
15. To undertake other ad-hoc duties, assignment and projects as assigned.
Supervision Received:
Supervision is provided by Assistant Manager. Position requires the person to be meticulous and to have ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Diploma in Finance/Accountancy/Banking or professional qualifications from a recognized Accounting Body
Experience:
At least one year of relevant experience in handling accounts.
Possess knowledge of financial regulations.
Skills:
· Possess good communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
· Be meticulous and have good analytical attributes.
· Have the ability to work under pressure.
· Experience using MYOB or Quickbook financial software would be an advantage.
· Must be a team player, possess good initiative and a positive work attitude.
