Job Duties:
Chartering and Negotiation:
- Identify and negotiate charter party agreements for dry bulk vessels.
- Secure cargoes for vessels and match suitable vessels for client cargo requirements.
- Negotiate terms and conditions of charter parties, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Client Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with ship owners, charterers, and operators.
- Provide clients with market insights, updates, and strategic advice.
- Handle client inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.
Market Analysis and Reporting:
- Monitor and analyze market trends, freight rates, and industry developments.
- Prepare regular market reports and forecasts for clients and internal stakeholders.
- Conduct research to identify new business opportunities and market segments.
Operational Support:
- Coordinate with operations and post-fixture teams to ensure smooth execution of charter parties.
- Assist in resolving operational issues related to vessel performance, delays, and disputes.
- Maintain accurate records of transactions and communications.
Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the company's client base.
- Participate in industry events, conferences, and networking activities.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote the company's services and capabilities.
Requirements:
- Qualification: Diploma or Degree of relevant studies
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in ship brokering, specifically within the dry bulk sector
- Proven track record of successful chartering deals and client management.
- In-depth knowledge of dry bulk shipping markets and chartering practices.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
