Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists the SG Branch Compliance Head in ensuring that SG Branch implements effectively its internal policies, guidelines, procedures, systems and controls on the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing (AML/CFT systems) are met and risks identified are addressed and mitigated by
- Developing and/or continuously reviewing SG Branch AML/CFT systems to ensure that they remain up-to-date and meets the current statutory and regulatory requirements and are effective in managing ML/TF risks arising from the SG Branch business;
- Overseeing all aspects of the AML/CFT systems which include monitoring effectiveness and enhancing control procedures where necessary;
- Maintaining, reviewing and updating AML/CFT internal policies and procedures and Money Laundering;
- Ccommunicating key AML/CFT issues with SG Branch Compliance Head for reporting to SG Branch Chief Executive, Chief Compliance Head and regulators, as applicable, including where appropriate, significant compliance deficiencies;
- Ensuring and conducting AML/CFT training to SG Branch personnel is adequate, appropriate and effective.
- Performs review of all internal disclosures and exception reports and in light of all available relevant information, determining whether or not it is necessary to make a report to the MAS and maintain all records related to such internal reviews and provide guidance to SG Branch personnel on how to avoid tipping off.
- Assists the SG Branch Compliance Head in the identification, assessment, advisory, monitoring, control and reporting on the AML/CTF laws, rules and standards, laws and regulations that are relevant and applicable to SG Branch and analyzes corresponding risks of non-compliance and prioritizes the compliance risks.
- Assists SG Branch Compliance Head to establish and open communication process within the SG Branch personnel, develop or customized AML/CFT and other applicable regulatory compliance trainings, seminars and workshops, as may be deemed necessary to educate and update the SG Branch personnel on AML/CFT related and regulatory compliance matters and pertinent banking, laws, rules, regulations, codes of conduct and standards of good practice applicable to SG Branch.
- Assists SG Branch Compliance head in responding to AML/CFT and compliance regulatory related requirements for the regular examination of internal and external auditors, various local and overseas regulatory bodies and law enforcement authorities.
- Monitors the compliance of SG Branch by conducting independent compliance testing of the AML/CFT systems, regulated activity business and other applicable regulatory requirements using risk-based approach and enforce compliance policies and procedures.
- Maintains the records of all internal and external trainings attended by SG Branch personnel including monitoring of CPT requirements of Relevant Individuals.
