This position is responsible for managing some Japanese clients in Singapore and in the region of Asia/Oceania, taking full responsibility of any matters of clients including claims.
· To review all renewal policies & to recommend new cover (if any) and to improve coverage if necessary
· To review coverage and rates for unfavorable loss ratio clients, and to take necessary measures together with Claim/Risk Engineering division timely when needed
· To expand the current pool of clients, by managing the relationships and coordinating activities with these major clients
· To provide guidance and technical assistance through direct involvement with the staff when they encounter with difficulties and complex issues at work
· To develop, implement and maintain an overall continuity and training plan that will increase staff productivity, flexibility, skills and knowledge to respond rapidly to changing business and customer needs
· To work on World-Wide Program, giving professional advice and World Wide communication within Sompo group
· To organize Hull Insurance seminar/conference for Ship Owners in the Region in English and Japanese
· To investigate the trend of shipping market in the Region and consider management plan to continue/expand business in collaboration with Japan Head Quarters
· To establish new and current network for building good business relationship
This position requires in depth understandings of Marine Hull Insurance market of the world including Singapore and Japan and knowledge about General insurance provided in Singapore and in Japan so as to transfer and impart knowledge to the staff and forge new business partners
Qualifications Experience
· Experience in Marine Hull Insurance business at least 20 years (Hull & Machinery, War Risks)
· This position requires to liaise and report to Japan Headquarters and handling Japanese clients in Singapore and Japan, therefore proficiency in Japanese is a must.
· Demonstrate ability to work effectively in a team setting Entrepreneurial attitude with a willingness to learn and contribute voluntarily (e.g. in opportunity identification, business improvement)
· Understanding Japanese corporate clients through the over 20 years experience in marketing and/or business development for Japanese corporate businesses.
· Regional travel may be required
